After enjoying great reviews as a party DJ, Sean found himself in demand with party customers asking him to run the entertainment at their wedding parties too. More than a DJ, just rocking up with the equipment
“For me, it doesn’t get more personal than being included in a couple’s special day, so I like to make everything I do personalised for each couple.
I organise bespoke lighting to fit a couple’s theme. I’ve upgraded the whole digital side of the DJ deck and stage. It’s now even easier to add the wow factor to a wedding party with digital displays alongside the music decks. We can do all of it – messages from the couple to their guests, congratulatory messages to the couple. We can even MC for them, with countdowns and build ups to those special moments such as cake cutting and speeches!
And all the way through, our digital displays really add personalisation and personality to the day. Our digital DJ dashboards make it all possible in a minimum fuss, maximum impact way for a perfectly planned party!”
But being a wedding DJ is still all about the music, right?
“Of course! Whether couples are booking me as a wedding DJ only or as part of a wedding package, when it comes to the music, the magic really happens!
I encourage couples to send me playlists of the type of music they’d like, or that will appeal to their guests. This gives me an idea of their music tastes, so I can offer them additional ideas and inspiration from my extensive music collection!
It goes without saying that the first dance is a very special moment! So, I’ll work with couples to make sure we have the perfect song. We can also organise the other special dance moments, like the father and the bride. If they have no idea what to choose, I have plenty of suggestions to help inspire them in the perfect choice.”
Requests and dedications ... it's what brings your wedding party together
"I make it as easy as possible for the couple and guests to communicate their requests and what they want from the music side of things. That way, everyone all relax and just enjoy their celebration - after all, that's why they're there!"
“Requests and dedications are a huge part of a wedding party! Our wedding DJ services aim to make this easy for couples and their guests.
Take our request cards. I give these to the couple when the wedding’s at the planning stage. This way, they can pop the cards in with their invitations. This way, their guests can all request a song for during the party. They can also contribute a personal message, which I’ll add to the digital display on the day.
Once the party is underway, the couple are welcome to come up and ask for whatever they’d like. Guests can also ask for requests. To make this easier for everyone, this can be done digitally. I have an iPad at the front of the DJ stage, for guests to use for requests, straight to me at the disco end of the dancefloor!
I also scroll out a request number on the light display. This makes it easy for guests to text their request straight to me. This way, guests can request songs whilst they’re sitting down or are at the bar and the couple can pop requests through to me without having to leave their guests.”
